St Augustine’s Display Case

This was a private commission to create a display case for the trowel that was used to lay the church’s foundation stone. For the design of the case, I borrowed the proportions of the foundation stone (which, conveniently, was in the golden ratio) and some details from nineteenth century museum vitrines, as recorded in George Ellis’s Modern Practical Joinery.
